Product description

Try a revolutionary way to enhance your walls with magnetic paint. This paint allows you to attach office magnets, souvenir magnets or various magnetic tapes and sheets directly to the wall. You can easily create a magnetic board of any size from the wall.
To be able to write on the wall (with whiteboard markers), just add SketchPaint paint. Simply wipe off the written text or drawings with a whiteboard squeegee (sponge).

The colour of Magnet paint is dark grey. If SketchPaint paint is added (to write on the wall), the resulting white surface is achieved. However, you can also wallpaper or paint the dark grey Magnet paint with any washable interior paint to get the look of the wall according to your wishes.
These colours will make you happy in the office, in the children’s room, in the kitchen, in classrooms or conference rooms, and wherever the revolutionary magnetic bulletin board makes you happy.

What is Magnet paint?

Magnet Paint is a dark grey water-based latex paint that you simply paint on the wall. It contains iron particles which make the surface painted with this paint attract magnets. Because the iron content per surface area is lower than, for example, refrigerator doors, the use of stronger neodymium magnets (not black ferrite magnets) is recommended. Magnetic tapes and sheets also adhere very well to magnetic paint.
This paint meets the EN71-3 safety standard, making it safe for children.

What do you need?

  • Painting set – tray and cotton roller for varnish/glaze, with a very short pile that doesn’t create texture (foam or flock rollers are unsuitable)
  • Masking tape for more precise lines
  • Fine sandpaper
  • MagnetPaint
  • Optional: SketchPaint (to get a white surface and the ability to write on the wall)
  • Optional: Washable interior paint or wallpaper (to get any desired final color)
  • Optional: Base coat under MagnetPaint (to ensure perfect adhesion and surface coverage)

How to do it?

  • To apply, a smooth surface is ideal – a wall, plasterboard, but the paint can also be painted on wooden surfaces (furniture), metal or plastic.
  • Check the surface you are going to apply the paint to. The wall should be smooth (free of grain), free of grease, dust, or other dirt. You can also sand the surface with fine sandpaper/sponge.
  • Optional: Apply a base colour to the wall. It is particularly suitable when it is necessary to increase the quality of the base. It will improve the adhesion of MagnetPaint and achieve a smoother surface.
  • Apply MagnetPaint magnetic paint. The paint must be mixed thoroughly before painting. If necessary, dilute the paint with a maximum of 5% pure water. To apply, choose a new short-pile roller. Apply at room temperature (above 10 °C) and at a maximum room humidity of 80%. The drying time depends on the actual conditions.
  • 2 or 3 coats are needed. Allow the paint to dry for at least 4 hours before applying the next coat. Magnet paint dries completely in 24 hours, after which the wall gets a modern dark grey colour.
  • Optional: Apply SketchPaint, interior washable paint or wallpaper.

Remark: Stronger neodymium magnets are recommended for attaching note paper or photos to the wall. Magnetic sheets and tapes also work very well.
