Product description
The two-coloured magnet in the shape of a block is an ideal school tool for physics or science lessons. Combined with iron dust, sawdust or a magnetic pole identifier, you can do experiments that children will literally enjoy. Using iron dust or sawdust, for example, you can easily make the magnetic field of a magnet visible (see picture below). The sawdust is arranged in chains to form a so-called sawdust pattern. The sawdust chains in it show the position of the magnetic field induction lines (magnetic field lines).
The red part of the magnet indicates the north pole. The green part, on the other hand, is the south pole. Thanks to this colour design, you can easily determine the poles of another magnet. One only has to bear in mind that the north pole of one magnet attracts the south pole of another magnet. Conversely, the two north poles or the two south poles repel (push) each other away.
The magnet is made of AlNiCo material (aluminium, nickel, cobalt and iron). It is therefore not as brittle as a neodymium magnet. It is more durable, which is an advantage for the purpose of a school aid. The AlNiCo material has a heat resistance up to ca. 450 °C. Although it is not equal to neodymium magnets in magnetic strength, it is stronger compared to classic ferrite magnets.
