Product description

SketchPaint gives your creativity unlimited freedom. Write and draw wherever you need.

SketchPaint transforms any smooth surface into a writable one with whiteboard markers. The paint can be painted on walls, hard plastics, stone, wood or metal. However, smooth walls (without grainy plaster), plasterboards are most suitable for application. The smoother the surface, the easier it is to clean the board. You can erase the writing simply by using a whiteboard squeegee (sponge). And you can create again.

Sketchpaint can be used wherever it is desirable to have a writable surface – children’s rooms, offices, kindergartens/schools, conference halls or medical facilities.

After applying Sketchpaint, you will get a white matte finish. If you prefer a glossy surface, choose Sketchpaint gloss.

If the surface is also required to be magnetic, MagnetPaint magnetic paint should be used before applying SketchPaint. You can get a magnetic board of any size.

What is SketchPaint?

SketchPaint is a 2-component water-based paint. The paint is odourless and suitable for interior use. It is writable with whiteboard markers. Warning: do not use permanent markers.

What do you need?

  • painting set – tray and a painting/varnishing cotton roller with very short pile that does not create texture (a foam or flocked roller is unsuitable)
  • masking painter’s tape for more precise lines
  • fine sandpaper
  • SketchPaint
  • Optional: impregnation coat (to ensure perfect adhesion and surface coverage)
  • Optional: MagnetPaint (in case you wish to have a magnetic wall too)

How to do it?

⦁ Check the surface to which you will apply the paint. The wall should be smooth (free of grain), free of grease, dust, or other dirt. You can also sand the surface with fine sandpaper/sponge.

Tip: SketchPaint is applied in a very thin layer, which does not cover the grain and irregularities of the surface but merely replicates them. Therefore, apply SketchPaint only when the surface is sufficiently flat and smooth.

⦁ If Sketchpaint is applied to the wall, we recommend impregnating it first (to improve the quality of the substrate).

⦁ The paint is two-component (paint + necessary hardener). According to the instructions for use, mix both ingredients and stir for 3 minutes. Then wait 5 minutes for the bubbles to float to the surface. If necessary, add max. 10% distilled water.

⦁ One coat is sufficient for good functionality. If you would still apply two coats, observe an interval of 12 hours from the first coat. It is also necessary to gently sand the first layer with water-resistant sandpaper. If you use crepe painter’s tape, remove it no later than one hour after application. If removing them after a long period of time, first cut the joints between the tape and the paint with a utility knife.

SketchPaint cures completely after 5 days, after which time it is ready for use.

SketchPaint must not be applied at temperatures below +10 °C and/or relative humidity above 80%.

Warning: High indoor temperatures or drafts can cause the paint to dry too quickly. This can result in an uneven texture resembling orange peel. Writing on such a surface with a marker may be difficult, and the markings can be hard to erase. In such cases, the surface should be lightly sanded and a new coat of paint applied.
