Magnetic gadgets for men (Part 1)

1. Picking up screws with a magnet

Did you spill nails or screws in the grass? Help yourself with a magnet.

Picking it up by hand takes forever, and it’s likely that a lot of screws will remain in the grass. All it takes is one clever magnet to playfully attract even screws unseen at first glance. This way you can pick up any small metallic objects such as coins, nuts or paper clips. We used a magnet in the shape of a block and size 40x20x5 mm. You too can choose from the range of powerful neodymium magnets.

Warning: Larger magnets must be handled correctly and with care. Read more in the article How to separate strong magnets.

2. Magnetic tool holder

Can’t find the right screwdriver? Seems like your pliers have gone underground? No more clutter in the toolbox!

Store your tools neatly on a magnetic holder. It can also hold heavier metal objects such as pliers, scissors or screwdrivers. Anyone can assemble it, just choose a place for your bracket and screw it on with 4 screws.

The magnetic holder makes your work easier and keeps things tidy.

3. Magnets in the office

Never know where to find a pen? A USB flash drive just lying around in your bag? Organize your office supplies with self-adhesive magnets.

Stick them anywhere you like, whether it’s on the side of your office desk, a cupboard or a shelf. They use their magnetic force to hold objects that are attracted to magnets – such as a USB drive, paper clips, scissors or metal parts of pens.

A tip on how you can use the magnet:

1. Get a self-adhesive magnet in a size that suits you. For lighter items such as pens, paper clips or USB flash drives, smaller magnets from our range will suffice. For heavier items such as scissors, clippers, choose a larger magnet, such as the Neodymium magnet, disc, 20×2 mm, self-adhesive.

2. Remove the paper part from the magnet and stick the magnet where you like.

3. Place objects with the metal part on the magnet.

We glued different sizes of magnets to the side of the office desk and attached various objects to them. A pencil sharpener, USB flash drive, scissors, paper clips or the eternally sought after pen have all found their place. All office supplies together with small self-adhesive magnets.

4. Adjustable magnetic wristband for DIYers

The magnetic wristband is a coveted tool for every handyman, DIYer, as well as professional repairman, craftsman, electrician or car mechanic. Working with it is comfortable and efficient. They can clip their screws, nails, nuts, needles or other small metal objects to it. It keeps both hands free and all items available at all times.

Get yours, or gift a DIYer who could use a magnetic wristband.

5. Cleaning narrow-neck containers with magnets

How to clean a jug, vase or bottle with a narrow neck? Commonly available cleaning brushes or sponges won’t fit through the hole. Magnet cleaning is the solution. The magic of magnetic power will help you with cleaning.

What do you need?

  • 2 stronger magnets (we used Neodymium magnet, block, 20x20x5 mm and Magnetic hook, Ø 32 mm)
ATTENTION: the magnet inserted inside the bottle must fit through the narrow neck!
TIP: select the strength of the magnets based on how dirty the container is. The stronger the magnet, the more force is available for the sponge to scrub the inside of the container.
  • dish sponge
  • paring knife or scissors to make a hole in the sponge
  • stapler to keep the magnet from falling out of the sponge
  • ordinary dish detergent
  • optional: gauze to avoid scratching the surface of the container with strong magnets

Cleaning procedure:

  1. Using scissors or a paring knife, make a hole in the dish sponge. It needs to be bigger than the magnet you will be putting in the sponge.
  2. Insert the magnet into the sponge.
  3. Staple the hole to keep the magnet secure in the sponge during cleaning.
  4. Soak the container, add detergent to the sponge and push it through the neck of the container to the bottom.
  5. Wrap the second, stronger magnet (ideally with a hook for easy holding during cleaning) in gauze to keep from scratching the surface of the container.
  6. Lift the container and place the outer magnet up to the sponge at the container bottom.
  7. Once the sponge has been attracted, clean the container by smoothly moving the outer magnet over the body of the container.
  8. Once you have cleaned the container, using a long object – e.g. a kitchen spoon – pull the sponge out of the container and rinse the container.
